Job Description – Buyer
Position Overview
The Buyer is responsible for executing day‑to‑day procurement activities, ensuring timely, cost‑effective, and high‑quality purchasing of goods and services. This role supports category managers and cross‑functional teams by managing suppliers, coordinating purchase orders, and maintaining accurate procurement records. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and capable of working in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Operations
Execute purchasing activities including RFQ, supplier comparison, negotiation, and order placement.
Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring on‑time delivery and accurate documentation.
Track order status, resolve delivery issues, and coordinate with suppliers on schedule adjustments.
Maintain accurate procurement data, pricing records, and supplier information in ERP systems.
Supplier Management
Communicate with suppliers to ensure product availability, quality, and timely delivery.
Support supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance evaluation.
Assist in resolving quality issues, discrepancies, and claims with suppliers.
Identify potential new suppliers to improve cost, quality, and supply stability.
Cost & Compliance
Support cost‑saving initiatives through negotiation, supplier consolidation, and process optimization.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, contracts, and ethical sourcing standards.
Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and supply risks to support purchasing decisions.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Finance, and Engineering teams to meet business needs.
Coordinate material availability for production schedules and new product launches.
Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and preventing shortages or overstock.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
1–3 years of procurement or supply chain experience preferred.
Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Infor) is a plus.
Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
