Logistics Supervisor – Job Description Position Overview The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. This role ensures operational efficiency, cost control, and service quality while supporting continuous improvement across the supply chain. Key Responsibilities 1. Daily Logistics Operations Management Supervise inbound and outbound logistics activities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. Coordinate with carriers, 3PL partners, and warehouse teams to maintain smooth operations. Monitor transportation schedules, shipment status, and resolve delivery issues. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. 2. Warehouse & Inventory Control Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, picking, packing, and dispatching. Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular cycle counts. Optimize warehouse layout, storage utilization, and material flow. Ensure proper handling of materials to minimize damage and loss. 3. Performance Monitoring & Reporting Track logistics KPIs such as on‑time delivery, transportation cost, warehouse productivity, and inventory accuracy. Prepare daily/weekly/monthly operational reports for management review. Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions. 4. Supplier & Carrier Coordination Work closely with logistics service providers to ensure service quality and cost efficiency. Support carrier selection, performance evaluation, and issue resolution. Maintain strong communication with suppliers, customers, and internal teams. 5. Process Improvement & Cost Optimization Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics efficiency. Support implementation of digital tools such as WMS, TMS, and tracking systems. Identify cost‑saving opportunities in transportation, warehousing, and packaging. 6. Team Leadership Supervise and train logistics staff, including warehouse operators and coordinators. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to SOPs. Promote a safe, disciplined, and high‑performance work environment. Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field. 3–5 years of logistics or warehouse management experience. Experience in manufacturing, automotive, FMCG, or 3PL/4PL is preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of logistics operations, transportation, and warehouse processes. Familiarity with WMS/TMS systems and basic data analysis tools (Excel, ERP). Good communication, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills.
