Flash Memory Design Director
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design: Define and drive the product architecture and technology roadmap for Flash products. Make critical design trade-off decisions between performance, density, cost, and power consumption. Decompose product specifications and set design requirements for analog circuits, digital circuits, and layout. Lead the design and simulation of flash core circuits (x-decoder, page buffer, datapath, etc.).
Read/Write Performance Optimization: Take ownership of read and write circuit design, with a continuous focus on performance and yield enhancement.
Technical Leadership: Build, manage, and mentor a high-caliber design team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and execution excellence. Responsible for team growth, resource allocation, and performance management."
Layout & Verification: Guide and review IC layout design and verification, ensuring adherence to performance, area, and power specifications through post-layout simulation and parasitic analysis.
Simulation & Modeling: Conduct overall chip simulation. Conduct extensive pre- and post-layout simulations using tools like Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, and Hspice. Develop behavioral models using Verilog-A/AMS or MATLAB for system-level verification.
Silicon Bring-Up & Debug: Provide technical guidance during chip testing, characterization, and silicon debug to resolve design issues and ensure the product meets all specifications.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including process technology, digital design, and product engineering, to deliver a high-quality product.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Master's degree in Microelectronics, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 10+ years of deep experience in Flash memory design, with at least 5 years in a technical leadership or management role overseeing complex IC projects from concept to high-volume manufacturing."
